1. I won’t bore you with the long and partisan details coming from “the other side” – aka the liberal blogs – but I will say that it is not at all unusual to have large shifts after the unofficial counts are reported as counties verify their totals for the official report.  Here’s a brief snippet:

   Coleman “well knows” that these tallies change, because in his 2002 race the unofficial tally on election day gave him 8,920 votes more than the final total after canvass did.  Did Coleman kick and scream and threaten to take his ball and go home then?  No, he won so he actually complied with the law…  In fact, the election day totals almost always vary immensely from the final, official results.  Klobuchar gained 2,854 votes, Pawlenty lost 1,375, and Swanson gained an amazing 23,059!

   So it appears the totals swing quite significantly on a per-race basis.

   Realize, most of these changes are reporting errors – reversing numbers or reading from the wrong column; they aren’t counting errors (mostly).

2. is they do play all kinds of games in vote counting – so they assume everyone else does so too. I think we need to watch what everyone does very very carefully, but lacking some clear evidence to the contrary – assume it’s good.

      MN does a very thorough hand recount, and it will take them another month to complete it.  It’s well-monitored and both sides are ramping up their recount staff as we sit here gabbing.

3. This is an idiotic post.

   All it shows is that running elections is not an exact science. The same thing happened in Washington in 2004. A conservative judge found nothing wrong, and nothing wrong is occurring here.

   Try to think outside the ‘pub box before posting drek like this.
